Sammie and his wife, Shalonda, and their children, Jenee' (married to Wallace Taylor), son Cre'shawn, and Sania and three grandchildren, Christian, Cam, and Hazel Grace, live in Mt. Dora, Florida.
Both, Sammie and Shalonda, serve others through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Sammie has overcome challenges in his personal and professional life by surrendering his life to Jesus Christ.
He is also a former NFL first round draft pick and Florida State University football Hall of Fame inductee.
